My love for teaching began early in life and by the teen years I was working as a counselor in a special needs camp. As a college student at Lesley University in Cambridge, Massachusetts I honed my teaching skills. Lesley afforded me the opportunity to work in a variety of school settings while earning my degree in elementary education with a minor in special education.
As an educator for over thirty years, I have had the opportunity to work in a wide variety of schools including public, private, and even my own preschool! All have been unique experiences and provided me with a healthy perspective about differences in educational philosophies. When I became a teacher at LANK, I employed the best of all these philosophies to guide my teaching. While at LANK, I enjoyed teaching in both the five day program and kindergarten. LANK is a special school with great heart. The community is warm, involved and welcoming! As the school's director, I am delighted to be able to share my own joy of teaching with our talented staff, and my love for LANK with the community at large.
When I am not at school, I enjoy all aspects of living; travel, theater, hiking, books, and of course my wonderful husband John and three grown children.
