Before the First Flakes Fall…..

In the event of inclement weather closings, delayed openings, or early closings, LANK follows the decisions made by Fairfax County Public Schools (FCPS.)  If Fairfax County Public Schools close, so does LANK.

When Fairfax County announces a delayed opening of two hours, LANK will have the following schedule:

AM Session:    10:45 a.m.-12:30 p.m.
Lunch Bunch: 12:35 p.m.-1:25 p.m.
PM Session:   1:45 p.m.-3:30 p.m.

If Fairfax County announces an early closing of two hours, LANK’s pm session will be cancelled, and the kindergarten class and all morning lunch bunch children will be dismissed at 12:25 p.m.

Because some Fairfax County Schools have early closings each Monday, LANK will make an independent decision regarding afternoon sessions on Monday.  An e-mail message using LANK’s group-messaging system will be sent to parents in the event of a Monday early closing.  If the weather is questionable on a Monday afternoon, and you cannot check your e-mail, please call the school and let us know what arrangements have been made for your child if the school closes early.

If the weather becomes inclement during the course of any school session, please keep in mind that the LANK parking lot may become icy and  difficult to negotiate.  For your safety and that of our children and staff, you may be directed to park elsewhere and walk to LANK in order to pick up your children.  Every effort will be made to dismiss quickly and safely and your help and patience will be appreciated.
