Pre-Kindergarten

The 5 Day program is designed as a preparatory program to kindergarten. A strong curriculum presents extensive opportunities for emergent readers and focuses on patterning, rhyming, letter identification and writing initiatives. Readiness is emphasized and children progress at the appropriate developmental level.

We are concerned with the whole child and creative experiences and learning through play are integral to our program. Math and science are also an important part of the 5 Day curriculum. Our approach to these disciplines emphasizes exploration and allows opportunities for “hands-on” experiences.

This program has a number of enrichment activities each week, including gymnastics, music, and monthly GRACE Art presentations focusing on an artist or artistic theme. The “Getting Ready for School” initiative also includes Handwriting without Tears, a systematic approach for teaching writing, custom designed for the Pre-K child.

This year we proudly introduced Spanish to our curriculum as well. Weekly sessions are offered emphasizing spoken Spanish for the young child.
